The International Society of Developmental Biologists (ISDB) is a non-profit scientific association which aims to promote the study of developmental biology:-by providing a forum for scientific discussion and for the publication of results of research, • by promoting the organization of international congresses and symposia, • by encouraging the establishment and improvement of research laboratories which are accessible to students and researchers of all nationalities, • by organizing research projects and advanced courses with emphasis on the cooperation of investigators from different countries and different disciplines , • by facilitating the preparation and publication of bibliographies and other communications which may be of help in the coordination of research between different countries, • by encouraging the establishment of central collections of material, slides, and scientific publications, • by all other legitimate means which may help the Society to attain its objectives. Union of Biological Sciences (1UBS), will endeavor to cooperate with this Union and its sections and with other national and international bodies. It will form the representative body of research workers in the field of developmental biology within the framework of the Union. 'Society Membership' of the ISDB is open to national societies of developmental biology. Each year 'Society Members' provide an updated membership list with names/addresses to the ISDB, as a result of which their members gain the right to obtain the official journal of the Society at a reduced rate. The price is to be agreed by Elsevier and the ISDB Board. 'Personal Membership' of ISDB is open to all individuals active in the field of developmental biology. They may or may not be a member of a national society.
